The Lutheran community joined together for a Reformation celebration Oct. 30 and to raise funds for the Lutheran Campus Ministry at 黑料不打烊 and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. The event at the Genesee Grande Hotel raised $6,000 for the campus ministry. Three local community leaders were also recognized for their work.

Beth Broadway, executive director of InterFaith Works CNY; Joyce Bresnahan, a Hospice nurse and advocate care giver for the needy; and the Rev. James Bresnahan, a church and community leader, were honored as 鈥淒istinguished Disciples.鈥
The Reverend John S. Macholz Bishop, Upstate New York Synod, gave the keynote address on 鈥淔aith Formation: Next Generation.鈥
Guests also had the opportunity to hear from 黑料不打烊 students who contribute to the Lutheran community. At the end of the celebration, attendants joined in song expressing their thanksgiving to God and dedication to service.
The funds will be used to support the operational costs of the ministry, says Lutheran Chaplain Rev. Gail V. Riina. The ministry鈥檚 annual fundraisers and direct donations from alumni and friends are the only way it聽sustains the chaplaincy that makes ministry with and by the students possible.
