The Journal of Communication and Religion has released a special issue [39. 2 (2016)] devoted in its entirety to the book “Confronting Anti-Semitism: Seeking an End to Hateful Rhetoric” (Troubador, 2011) by , professor of communication and rhetorical studies in the ’ Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies.
Amos Kiewe
Contributors, including acclaimed scholars David Frank and Ronald Arnett, honored and extended Kiewe’s insights concerning anti-Semitism, specifically the rhetorical operations of hate more broadly, with their grave social and material consequences locally, nationally and globally.
Published by the Religious Communication Association, the Journal of Communication and Religion addresses concerns of religious communicators and communication scholars through publication of original research and reviews of current publications in the field of religious communication.
Kiewe’s areas of research are in rhetorical theory and criticism, political communication, presidential studies, argumentation and persuasion. He has authored and edited numerous books and published in such journals as Communication Studies, Legal Studies Forum, Journal of American Culture, Argumentation and Advocacy and Southern Communication Journal. Most recently he co-edited “The Effects of Rhetoric and the Rhetoric of Effects: Past, Present and Future” (University of South Carolina Press, 2015). Since 2015, he has served as a visiting professor at York St John University, United Kingdom, presenting research and lecturing during spring breaks.
