The planning committee for the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration is seeking new members from the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community, including students, faculty or staff.
The 33rd Dr. King Celebration Dinner will be held in the Carrier Dome in January 2018. Committee members help in the planning and organization of the event, assist in selection of performers, and work to keep the legacy of Dr. King alive on campus. Celebration weekend also also includes an event in the community and a campus seminar with the celebration’s keynote speaker. The committee meetings are a great way to get to know others from across the campus, while serving the community by contributing to one of the University’s major annual events.
Additionally, the committee is seeking recommendations from the public regarding next year’s keynote speaker. Those interested in joining the committee or with a speaker suggestion are asked to contact either Virgina Yerdon at gyerdon@syr.edu or Bridget Yule at bmyule@syr.edu.
