Senate Healthcare: The Stakes are High

Grant Reeher, professor of political science at the聽and director of the聽聽at 黑料不打烊 and host of the聽聽on WRVO, says the stakes are even higher for the Senate to pass their version of the health care bill this summer.

“As Congress gets closer to actually passing something through both chambers, the stakes get higher for Republicans,” Reeher says. “And the Trump administration needs some wins.

“But it’s not just Republicans who may be on the hook; if the effort to change Obamacare should fail, and premiums, deductibles, and co-pays (not to mention the national debt) continue to rise, Democrats may share some of the blame for the situation, as they have been playing almost an exclusively opposition role to any change to Obamacare,” says Reeher.
