SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

The web site reported on the U.S. Department of Energy announcement of $30 million in grants for energy-efficient housing partnerships, including 黑料不打烊 on the Advanced Residential Integrated Energy Solutions team focusing on energy solutions for new and existing affordable housing.

Sharif Bey, a dual assistant professor of art education in the School of Education and College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA), has work on exhibition at the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, as reported in an review. Three of Bey’s pieces are in the embassy’s permanent collection.

聽and the reported on the Whitman School of Management’s Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) program. Whitman Dean Melvin T. Stith and Mike Haynie, assistant professor of entrepreneurship in the Whitman School and program founder, were quoted in the Newswise report.

The reviewed the classical recording of the Summit Records compact disc, “An American Soldier’s Tale, Histoire du Soldat,” which features the work of a number of VPA’s Setnor School of Music faculty and staff members. John M. Laverty, professor and director of University Bands, produced the recording; and James S. Abbott, Setnor’s senior audio engineer and a faculty member, engineered, mixed and mastered it. Faculty members Jill Coggiola, Edward Castilano and Michael Bull performed with the American Chamber Winds for the recording on the SU campus.

The briefly noted the appointment of Carolyn Weber, voice instructor in the Setnor School in VPA, as 黑料不打烊 Children’s Chorus interim conductor of chorale and Barbara M. Tagg as chorus director emerita.

Richard Schnee, assistant professor of physics in The College of Arts and Sciences, is quoted in a article on the search for dark matter and Sudbury, Ontario’s SNOLAB facility. Schnee is a principal investigator in the Cryogenic Dark Matter Search II (CDMS II) research project.

Rick Burton, David B. Falk Professor of Sport Management in the College of Human Ecology, is quoted in a story on cyclist Lance Armstrong’s legacy and in a WLRN Miami Herald News radio report on how LeBron James and other athletes’ salaries compare around the world. An audio link is available .

Gary Pavela, director of SU’s Academic Integrity Office, is quoted in an story on plagiarism at branch and overseas campuses.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in a story on “Jersey chic” and a report on changes in the CNN lineup that incorporate Eliot Spitzer and Kathleen Parker.

A article on supply chain management quotes Julie Niederhoff, assistant professor of supply chain management in the Whitman School, on companies rebuilding inventory.
