While glimpses of spring have arrived, the winter weather is still lingering. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t continue to be active and engaged. Students have many opportunities, both on and off campus, throughout the winter months. Here are a few options for students to consider.
Drumlins

In partnership with Recreation Services, Drumlins offers tennis and golf at no additional fee to full-time undergraduate SU and ESF students. Graduate students have the opportunity to purchase a student tennis play pass at a deeply discounted rate. The tennis is indoors, so there’s no need to worry about the forecast. Reservations are available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from 8:30-10 p.m. or 10-11:30 p.m. and on Saturday evenings between 6-8 p.m. Courts can be reserved up to three days in advance. Additionally, free instructional clinics are on Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30-10 p.m., but the class size is limited, so sign up by 4 p.m. the day of. Orange After Dark (OAD)
OAD provides students a variety of activities to participate in after hours. Some highlights coming up include: Dave and Buster’s at Destiny USA on March 29 at 10:30 p.m., and much more.
In addition to putting on events throughout the semester, OAD sponsors consistent events each week. Students can take advantage of Late Night Movies every Friday and Saturday in Gifford Auditorium, starting at 11 p.m.; Late Night at the Gym at the Women’s Building and Flanagan from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and Late Night at the Rink at Tennity Ice Pavilion from 9 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday. For the full list of events, ticket information or to contact the OAD staff, visit the .
Recreation Services Challenge Course
Recreation Services operates a high and low element challenge course and team development program that offers a variety of options meant to challenge and engage your group in a unique learning environment. The facilitation staff will work with your group’s participants to help establish and/or strengthen existing relationships and build trust, respect and camaraderie through their customizable programs. Hendricks Chapel Dean’s Convocation
Hendricks Chapel offers a wide variety of services and opportunities for students to get involved. A highlight each week is the Dean’s Convocation at 7 p.m. on Sundays in Hendricks Chapel. It is intended to be a place for all people, featuring music and reflection from a diversity of religious, spiritual and philosophical perspectives.
