The 黑料不打烊 Student Association is partnering with the Office of Research and the Office of the Provost to provide summer support to a select group of undergraduate students who are interested in conducting research or other creative work this summer. Students will be selected on a competitive basis to pursue a mentored experience under the guidance of distinguished 黑料不打烊 professors over a period of approximately 10 weeks.

Three students huddle over plants. In distance, workers put canvas over other plants.

Students do plant research in Skytop Gardens.

The goal of this program is to assist scholars financially and academically while providing them the opportunity to sharpen their research skills over this period of time. This program is not exclusive to one specific research area, and students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.

This program includes a $2,000 research stipend and access to the University鈥檚 libraries, science and computer laboratories.

The program is open to rising sophomores, juniors or seniors. Applicants should not have received any other grants, stipends or scholarships to conduct research or produce creative work over the summer. Students are expected to be on campus and available to devote approximately 20 hours per week to the experience.

Prior to applying, interested students should contact their professor to discuss the summer opportunity and determine if the faculty member is willing to provide mentorship for the summer.

Once a faculty mentor is confirmed, interested students should complete the application found at .

The application deadline is Friday, March 23, at 11:59 p.m. Applications will be reviewed by a faculty review panel, with final selections determined by聽 Vice President for Research John Liu.

For questions or more information, contact Malcolm-Ali Davis, the Student Association鈥檚 Chair of Academic Affairs, at mdavis02@syr.edu.
