The is now open. ���ϲ����� staff, faculty and graduate students who align with the following requirements are encouraged to complete the application by Sunday, Aug. 16. [Note: The deadline has been extended to Wednesday, Sept. 2.]

C.A.R.E. facilitators must meet the following requirements:

• Attend all training sessions, Sept. 9-11, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
• Access to facilitate Zoom sessions
• Experience facilitating group discussions
• Comfortable discussing topics around race, ethnicity and anti-blackness
• Previously participated in C.A.R.E. dialogues

“C.A.R.E. creates dialogue, promotes self-reflection and challenges implicit and explicit biases. If you take part in C.A.R.E. you must be ready and committed to doing antiracist and anti-bias work, ”says Robin Maxile, Office of Multicultural Affairs graduate coordinator and C.A.R.E. academic consultant.

Through a six-week intergroup dialogue program, C.A.R.E. brings together interested small student groups and small faculty/staff groups to exchange views that result in greater awareness about issues and experiences across diverse cultural, ethnic and racial groups. During weekly two hour sessions, participants meet with two qualified facilitators to share personal stories focusing on race, ethnicity and identity. Selected readings and activities serve to enhance students’ understanding of these issues in broader society. Additionally, the offers a C.A.R.E. Speaks series. These student engagements are shorter, while covering the same topics as shared above.
