, David M. Levy Professor of Law and Faculty Director of Online Education in the College of Law, was quoted in the Kiplinger story “” Kohn, an expert on elder care law, said it is important for many elders to have a guardian as “older adults with cognitive decline and those with intellectual disabilities historically have been treated as expendable.” Guardianships help support family members with personal affairs and act as a protection from courts of law that do not always have the safeguards needed to protect the elderly.
