Allocating nearly $327 million to student financial aid, ���ϲ�����’s 2022-23 budget prioritizes financial assistance for promising students who aspire to be part of the growing Orange community. The figure reflects a nearly 9% increase in student financial aid, and is also supported by the ongoing success of the Forever Orange Campaign, which has broken all previous University records for fundraising to support student access and success.

“This historic investment in financial aid will allow the University to offer a distinctive experience to diverse students from across the socioeconomic spectrum,” says Ryan Williams, vice president for enrollment services. “We are looking forward to welcoming a talented new cohort of students and our returning students when the Fall 2022 semester gets underway. Returning students have persevered despite pandemic-related challenges. This investment in financial aid helps ensure that they earn their degrees in a timely manner.”

For the 2022-23 academic year, undergraduate tuition, room and board rates and fees are as follows:

• Tuition for full-time undergraduates will be $58,440, a 4.5% increase;
• Room rates for most full-time new and returning undergraduates will be $9,520;
• Board rates, which include the Blue Unlimited meal plan that offers greater value and flexibility, will decrease to $7,650;
• There will be no increase in the Student Activity, Co-Curricular and Residential Internet and Cable Access and Service fees; and
• The Health and Wellness fee will be $822 to further support expanded health and wellness initiatives.

In addition, graduate assistant stipends will increase by an overall average of 3% in the 2022-23 budget. The new minimum stipend for graduate students is $16,980.

“Together with the Graduate Student Organization, we have made great strides in graduate student stipends,” says Peter Vanable, dean of the Graduate School and associate provost for graduate studies. “Graduate students play a key role in advancing the University’s academic and research priorities. I am proud of the work we have done to date and look forward to further collaboration.”

For students on a University Fellowship, the 2022-23 minimum amounts for fellowships are $16,980 for master’s students and $25,290 for doctoral students.
