The Stars magazine notes College of Visual and Performing Arts Dean Anne Clarke as a juror for selection of works by fabric artists to be included in “The Art-Quilt Experience: An International Juried Art-Quilt Exhibition” at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park and Cazenovia College.

The new guidebook from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Press, “Monumental New York! A Guide to 30 Iconic Memorials in Upstate New York,” was featured in a recent article.

A (view clip) report on the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse notes that ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s theater program, among the best in the country, brings talented students to the area.

The previewed a Harriet Tubman lecture to be presented July 17 by Milton C. Sernett, professor emeritus of history and African American studies in the Maxwell School and College of Arts and Sciences.

Dessa Bergen-Cico, assistant professor in the Department of Health and Wellness in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, is quoted in an remembrance of first lady Betty Ford.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in an Atlanta Journal-Constitution article on HLN coverage of the Anthony trial and in and stories on the final Harry Potter film which opened Friday. Thompson is also quoted in an article about the continuing popularity of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park; a story on the lifestyle and legacy of Hugh Hefner; and (Pittsfield, Mass.) story on the role social media plays in high school reunions.

Dan Klamm, marketing and communications coordinator at SU’s Center for Career Services, authored a column on ways colleges can strengthen their social media presence.

Henry Lambright, professor of political science and public administration in the Maxwell School, is featured in a brief segment the future of space exploration.

Roy Gutterman, associate professor of communications law and journalism at the Newhouse School, authored an op-ed in (subscription required) on media and justice in sensationalistic trials.

Peter Koveos, professor and director of the Kiebach Center for International Business Studies at the Whitman School of Management, authored a guest column in the Central New York Business Journal on China and the global economy and environment.

David Rubin, professor and dean emeritus at the Newhouse School, authored a guest column on unfunded mandates.
