Design Gallery’s ‘Surface and Structure’ showcases student fiber work

Students in the fall 2011 introductory fiber arts course in ϲ’s (VPA) will show select work in the exhibition “Surface and Structure” Nov. 14-17 at the Design Gallery at The Warehouse, 350 W. Fayette St., ϲ. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

In “Surface and Structure,” students explore such traditional techniques as embroidery, dye painting and sewing to make objects that respond to contemporary ideas within art and design. Students and faculty will be available to discuss the work at an informal reception on Monday, Nov. 14, at 4:30 p.m. Regular gallery hours are daily, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
