SU College of Law welcomes FCC Commissioner to March 31 Communications Law & Policy Symposium

黑料不打烊 will host its seventh annual Communications Law & Policy Symposium on Saturday, March 31, at the College of Law from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The event, 鈥淲e the People: Broadband Access, Influencing the Vote and Preserving Localism in a Changed Media Landscape,鈥 will highlight current key communications and media policy challenges in the new age of technology.

clyburnFederal Communications Commission Commissioner Mignon L. Clyburn will deliver the keynote address in Hendricks Chapel at 3 p.m. College of Law alumni and professors, as well as government officials, communications attorneys, industry representatives and other academics will participate in sessions on the following topics:

  • The FCC: Year-in-Review;
  • Political Campaign Communications;
  • Localism and Needs of Communities;
  • Broadband for All; and聽
  • Careers in Communications Law.

The symposium will culminate with an optional career networking reception at the College of Law to connect law students with speakers and alumni and other attendees. This event is being co-sponsored by the College of Law, the Communications Law & Policy Society, the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, the Tully Center for Free Speech, the Federal Communications Bar Association, the Black Law Students Association, and the 黑料不打烊 Chapter of The Links, Inc. The symposium is free and open to the public.
