For graduating seniors, the final year of college can be a stressful time. Career Services in the Division of Student Affairs is helping to eliminate this stress by offering three “Senior Sessions” focused on resumes, career fairs, interviews and social media, to ensure that the big “G-word” sounds a little less scary.

These sessions, offered on three Tuesdays, are open to all majors and years, but will be geared toward seniors. The sessions will assist them in becoming prepared for what is to come after graduation.

Session One: Resume and Career Fair, will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 5-6 p.m. in Hall of Languages Room 114. Presented by Career Services’ Tracy Tillapaugh and Shannon Feeney Andre, this session will offer expert advice on ensuring that students’ resumes are in the best shape for job applications and will help students to learn how to navigate career fairs, specifically the Career Fair taking place on Oct. 3 in the Carrier Dome.

Session Two: Ace the Interview, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 5-6 p.m. in Hall of Languages Room 114. Presented by Career Services’ Rosanne Ecker, students will learn about what to expect in the interviewing stage of the job search process.

Session Three: Networking: Why #SOCIALMEDIA is a Must, will occur on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 5-6 p.m. in Crouse-Hinds Hall Room 010. Presented by Career Services’ Kim Brown, students will learn how social media can play an integral role in making job connections and how networking is the key to finding that first opportunity. Students will be exposed to using LinkedIn and Twitter in a new capacity.

RSVP for each session is required in OrangeLink. Questions can be directed to Tillapaugh at 443-3616 or ttillapa@syr.edu.
