Career Services’ Senior Sessions Take Stress Out of Graduation

For graduating seniors, the final year of college can be a stressful time. Career Services, a university office within the Division of Student Affairs, is helping to decrease this stress by offering a three-part series of workshops called Senior Sessions—focused on resumes, interviews and social media—to ensure that the big “G-word” sounds a little less scary.

These Tuesday-night workshop sessions are open to all majors and years, but will be tailored toward seniors to help them prepare for what is to come after commencement. All will take place in at 7 p.m. in 010 Crouse-Hinds Hall.

  • Session One: Resumes & Career Fair will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 29.  Presented by Career Services’ Tracy Tillapaugh and Shannon Feeney Andre, this session will offer expert advice on ensuring that students’ resumes are in the best shape for the Career Fair on Feb. 5.
  • Session Two: Ace the Interview will be held Tuesday, Feb. 12l. Presented by Career Services’ Rosanne Ecker, this session will inform students as to what to expect in the interviewing stage of the job search process.
  • Session Three: Networking NOW: Why #SOCIALMEDIA is a Must is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 19. Career Services’ Kim Brown will discuss how social media can play an integral role in making job connections and how networking is the key to finding that first opportunity. Students will be exposed to using LinkedIn and Twitter in a new capacity.
