TracyLocke, an Omnicom global agency led by president and CEO Beth Ann Kaminkow ’89, has established the TracyLocke Scholarship Fund for Communications Design in the .

The fund will provide scholarship and financial support of $5,000 for a sophomore student majoring in communications design. The scholarship will be renewed each year provided that the student maintains a minimum GPA of 3.00 in all communications design courses.

“TracyLocke has always been a strong supporter of our program and an active recruiter of our graduates,” says Robert Cooney, associate professor and program coordinator of communications design. “This scholarship enhances our relationship and will help us continue to reward our students to achieve their goals as future creative leaders.”

TracyLocke, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, has main offices in Dallas and Wilton, Conn., as well as regional offices around the world. The firm has worked with hundreds of famous national and global brands. From creating the famous “10, 2 and 4 o’clock” campaign for Dr Pepper in 1926, to winning Ad Age’s Promotion of the Decade for the 7-Eleven/Kwik-E-Mart promotion in 2008, TracyLocke continues to create advertising that drives commerce.

As president and chief executive of TracyLocke, Kaminkow’s role is dedicated to every aspect of the employee and client experience. She is at the heart of a high-performance culture that recognizes that the growth and attraction of top talent is critical to delivering exceptional client service. She believes that the way to truly offer integrated marketing as an agency is to build integrated teams from diverse backgrounds.

In 2011 Kaminkow was named one of Ad Age’s Women to Watch and a Woman of the Year by the Dallas Business Journal. In 2012 she was honored by the National Association of Professional Women. A graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, she is the first female CEO of TracyLocke and the 11th in its 100-year history.

Modeled on professional practice, the communications design program in the Department of Design explores the creative process, communications theory and design history and the organization and management of complex design projects, in addition to illustration, photography, typography and production processes. Classes also address advertising, marketing, communications and business.
