Jennie Donahue
Public relations professional Jennie Donohue ’90 will visit the on Friday, Oct. 11, as part of ϲ’s Remembrance Week. She will discuss “Putting a Human Face on Crisis Communication: Personal Reflections on the Bombing of Pan Am 103” at 11 a.m. in the Halmi Screening Room, 141 Newhouse 3. Remembrance Week honors the memory of 35 SU students who, en route home after a semester abroad, lost their lives in the terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, on Dec. 21, 1988. Donohue was also an SU student studying abroad that fall, but delayed her return to the U.S. so she could travel around Europe.
Donohue is a professional lecturer in Marist College’s School of Communication and the Arts (SCA), teaching in the undergraduate public relations and graduate integrated marketing communication degree programs. In addition, she serves as faculty advisor to the college’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America and the student-run public relations firm, North Road Communications.
She was recognized with the SCA Faculty Member of the Year Award by the Marist College Student Government Association in 2012. She is also a two-time recipient of a Marist College Special Recognition Award for achievements in teaching and service.
Donohue is an award-winning communication professional with more than 20 years of corporate, agency, higher education and nonprofit business experience. She has held positions with organizations including the Kellogg Company, Fidelity Investments, Golin/Harris and Manning, Selvage & Lee. Her professional background spans multiple industries and disciplines.
Her professional contributions have been recognized with a Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silver Anvil Award and an American Marketing Association (AMA) Gold Edison Best New Product Award.
She currently serves as president of the board of directors of Sprout Creek Farm, located in the Hudson Valley region of New York. In addition, she is a member of the PRSA and the AMA.
She graduated from ϲ with a dual degree in public relations and international relations, and earned an M.B.A. from Suffolk University.
