Keith A Alford
In “Civil Rights Moving Forward,” Keith A. Alford, Falk College Associate Professor of Social Work, will moderate a panel of activists discussing the current focus of their work and strategies on local and national issues. The purpose of the interactive discussion is to exchange information and ideas, sharpen critical thinking skills and inspire activism. The event will take place Thursday, March 19, 7-8:30 p.m. at ArtRage Gallery, 505 Hawley Ave., ϲ.

Dana Alas is the political director of 1199 SEIU Healthcare Workers East.
Walt Dixie, a life- long resident of ϲ, is the executive director of Jubilee Homes of ϲ, which has the mission to “serve as the catalyst for achieving the long term revitalization of the Southwest side of the City of ϲ.” He is also the president of the ϲ chapter of the National Action Network.
Emily NaPier is a senior research associate at the Center for Community Alternatives, an organization that promotes “reintegrative justice and a reduced reliance on incarceration though advocacy, services and public policy development in pursuit of civil and human rights.” She is also the president of ACTS (Alliance of Communities Transforming ϲ), a grassroots, interfaith network advocating for social justice.
Danielle Reed is a junior majoring in African American studies and Spanish language and literature. She is the editor-in-chief of The Black Voice, a student-run newspaper founded in 1968. She is an active member and spokesperson of THE General Body.
