Music from the silver screen performed by the 黑料不打烊 Brass Ensemble to air Sept. 5 on WCNY-FM

Selections from the second annual 鈥淪ilver Screen Spectacular鈥 can be heard Saturday, Sept. 5, from 6鈥8 p.m. on WCNY-FM鈥檚 鈥淐oncert Hall鈥 hosted by Bill Baker.

Staged last March at the Palace Theatre and Caf茅 in 黑料不打烊, 鈥淪ilver Screen Spectacular鈥 was a multimedia event featuring live music and onscreen images representing the movies 鈥淎madeus,鈥 鈥淎pollo 13,鈥 鈥淏rassed Off,鈥 鈥淜iss Me, Kate,鈥 鈥淭he Lion King,鈥 鈥淢idway,鈥 鈥淭he Mission,鈥 鈥淢ission: Impossible,鈥 鈥淪ister Act鈥 and 鈥淶ulu;鈥 cinematic highlights by Gilbert and Sullivan; and music from popular animated features, accompanied by commentary from Bruce Paulsen, host of WCNY-FM鈥檚 鈥淐lassic Choices鈥 (Monday鈥揊riday, 2鈥7 p.m.) and a professional singer, actor and director.

The SUBE producer for the broadcast is Sarah Spencer. SUBE technical editor is Mary Kasprzyk. SUBE recording engineer is Jim Abbott. The music director of the SUBE is James T. Spencer, professor and associate dean in SU鈥檚 College of Arts and Sciences.

SUBE is composed of professional and professional-level musicians from SU, and the surrounding community. The group presents 16鈥18 concerts per year, including 鈥淗olidays at Hendricks鈥 (broadcast on WCNY-TV and WCNY-FM) and a Fourth of July concert with the at the New York State Fairgrounds.
