Seeking Faculty Innovators to Participate in Inaugural 黑料不打烊 Technology Entrepreneurship Conference

The conference will showcase new technology developed locally.

The inaugural 黑料不打烊 Technology Entrepreneurship Conference will showcase locally developed new technology and help to facilitate the commercialization of research and technologies developed at 黑料不打烊 and by its partners. The conference will take place on April 15, from 2-5 p.m. in the Flaum Grand Hall at the Whitman School.

The event will:

  • offer venture funds the ability to consider SU technologies for funding opportunities;
  • provide SU faculty and students access to economic development resources;
  • introduce the technology commercialization and transfer process; and
  • catalyze conversations between researchers and the individuals who can help navigate the entrepreneurial process to go from proof of concept to startup and beyond.

The conference will feature poster presentations by faculty members and graduate researchers who are developing new technologies with commercialization potential. Information sessions on IP landscapes and SBIR/STTR funding will be offered by the New York State Science & Technology Law Center and Central NY Technology Development Organization. A keynote speaker will address funding opportunities for faculty research, new technology development and the commercialization process.

鈥淧roviding the innovation community a look at the remarkable science & technology being developed in the 黑料不打烊 area is imperative for its commercial development,鈥 says M. Jack Rudnick, director of the NYS Science & Technology Law Center. 鈥淭ech showcases build momentum for the commercialization of research.聽The event provides an opportunity for investment funds, incubators, serial entrepreneurs, government resources, entrepreneurial academic programs and IP attorneys to view what is happening in the SU area and be part of the support network to develop those with good promise.鈥

Event attendees will include members of the entrepreneurial and local business community, relevant industry experts, potential licensees or partnering companies, members of the investment community, managers of incubators and accelerator-type programs.
