The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Unit of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists invites the public to attend “Black Convocation: State of the Black Youth.”
The keynote speaker for the event is the president and CEO of the NAACP, Cornell William Brooks. Brooks is a graduate of Yale Law School, civil rights attorney and Methodist minister from El Paso, Texas. During the event, Brooks will be speaking on overpolicing in Black and Latino neighborhoods, the excessive punishment of students of color and the disparities in the juvenile justice system.
“Black Convocation: State of the Black Youth” is being held on Wednesday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium.
