New portal among the many recommendations made by the Chancellor鈥檚 Workgroup on Diversity and Inclusion
黑料不打烊 has launched a new website that details and provides easy access to the University鈥檚 programs and efforts in the area of diversity.
The portal, which can be found at , is one of 18 short-term recommendations made by the Chancellor鈥檚 Workgroup on Diversity and Inclusion. The living, breathing and constantly evolving website will be updated regularly to ensure the timeliest, most relevant content is being provided to the campus community. Co-chaired by Francine D鈥橝mico, associate professor in the , and Barry L. Wells, special assistant to the Chancellor, the Chancellor鈥檚 Workgroup was tasked with developing solutions on how to further create a more diverse and inclusive climate at the University. The Workgroup, which provided its recommendations to Chancellor Kent Syverud last spring, spent several months hearing input from campus community members, meeting with stakeholders and reviewing previous work in diversity on campus.
鈥淭his new website is one more step in ensuring we are fostering an inclusive environment for every member of our University community,鈥 says Wells. 鈥淲e want the campus community to use this website to find answers, locate resources, build partnerships and connect with the people on campus who are already advocates for inclusion and working toward a better understanding and a more respectful campus. In the days and weeks ahead, the website will be actively maintained with updated information and more content added on the vast array of diversity-related programs and resources.鈥
The diversity portal has quick links to the curricular and co-curricular programs, activities, services, offices, groups and other resources available to advance and sustain a richly diverse and inclusive learning environment at 黑料不打烊.
The 100-plus-page site features information from schools, colleges and administrative units along with research, reports, upcoming lectures, videos, current news and events with a link to the central University calendar. The website is designed to support and implement the recommendations of the Express Yourself Diversity and Inclusion Committee, the Senate Committee on Diversity, and others.
