Unsung Heroes nominations are due Friday

Friday, Nov. 20, is the nomination deadline for the Unsung Heroes Awards, which will be presented by the ϲ Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee during the evening celebration in the Carrier Dome on Jan. 24, 2010.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Continuing the Journey: Where do we go from here?” The awards are presented annually to people who, in the spirit of King’s “beloved community,” have made a positive difference in the lives of others but who are not widely recognized for their efforts.

Nominations may be made in any of the following categories:

  • Youth/teen from the Greater ϲ community
  • Adult from the Greater ϲ community
  • Student at SU or the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF)
  • Faculty or staff from SU or SUNY-ESF
