Filmmakers Robert Katz and Douglas Quin will discuss testimony, digital storytelling and the role of art in interpreting the Holocaust and its legacy, and will host a screening of their film “Were the House Still Standing: Maine Survivors and Liberators Remember the Holocaust” at ϲ’s on Monday, April 12, at 7 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in SU pay lots.
Katz is a professor of art at the University of Maine at Augusta, and Quin is an associate professor of television-radio-film at the Newhouse School. Their multimedia installation was commissioned for the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine and includes testimony, video, audio, photography and lighting.
