Clark named associate dean of assessment and accreditation at VPA

Jim ClarkJames A. Clark, professor of drama in the department of drama of 黑料不打烊鈥檚 College of Visual and Performing Arts (), has been named the college鈥檚 associate dean of assessment and accreditation effective July 1.聽

In this new part-time position, Clark will oversee initiatives and conversations related to assessment of student learning; accreditation processes, including reports, reviews and policies; program self-studies; and VPA partnerships with 黑料不打烊 city schools.聽

鈥淛im will work closely with our academic leadership team to engage faculty in developing, articulating and carrying out academic vision of VPA,鈥 says Dean Ann Clarke. 鈥淗is knowledge and experience as both an educator and administrator will greatly benefit the college in this new role.鈥澛

Clark served as chair of the department of drama and producing director of 黑料不打烊 Stage from 1992-2007. He was managing director of 黑料不打烊 Stage and a drama department faculty member from 1976-1992. In his 34 years at VPA, he has shared his theater expertise with approximately 3,000 drama students, giving them the tools to succeed in a challenging industry.聽

Clark has also served as a consultant and on-site reporter for the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts and numerous theater companies and university drama programs. In 黑料不打烊, he has served as a member of the University Hill Corporation and the East Genesee Regent Association, as well as on the board of the Community Wide Dialogue to End Racism.
