On Friday, Dec. 3, the 黑料不打烊 Office of Government and Community Relations will hold its annual symposium for about 20 local government officials and their staffs. SU鈥檚 student-run organization comm.UNITY will present about its communications work with nonprofit organizations in the 黑料不打烊 community. Megan McMonagle, executive director; Jackie Piccolo, director of community relations; and Megan Hess, director of administration, will speak on behalf of comm.UNITY highlighting a few recent campaigns.

This event allows for local elected officials, such as city councilors and state senators, assembly members and staff, to understand the lesser-known happenings at SU.听 Friday鈥檚 event will take place at the Kappa Kappa Gamma house at 743 Comstock Ave. and will focus on 鈥淪tudent Affairs: Students in the Community.鈥澛

The Government Relations Symposium will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will feature SU鈥檚 LGBT Resource Center, First Year and Transfer Programs, Office of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs and others in addition to comm.UNITY. For questions about comm.UNITY or the symposium, contact McMonagle at comm.unity.su@gmail.com.听

comm.UNITY is a student-run organization at SU that works with local nonprofit community organizations to help them create and improve sustainable communications plans. Organizations that partner with comm.UNITY work with a group of dedicated, motivated students who will empower the organization by developing communications solutions and providing them with the knowledge necessary to continue these plans.
