Doss named new veterans鈥� advisor

Senior Chief Boatswain鈥檚 Mate Andrew Keith Doss has joined the staff at of 黑料不打烊 as the veterans鈥� advisor of the University鈥檚 Veterans Resource Center. Doss has worked at SU since 1990, serving as manager of the bulk distribution center and customer service manager of word processing and bulk distribution and electronic publishing and copy centers.

dossDoss joined the Navy in 1986 and served on the U.S.S. Savannah out of Norfolk, Va., before reporting to the Naval Reserve Center in 黑料不打烊 in 1989, where he currently serves. In 2003, he was deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of operations Iraqi Freedom, Noble Eagle and Enduring Freedom. Following the end of major combat operations, he was reassigned to the Sea of Japan.

He has received numerous awards, including the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.

As the veterans鈥� advisor, Doss will meet prospective and current students and veterans regarding their VA educational benefits, collaborate with University departments regarding veterans topics and administer SU鈥檚 veterans educational benefit process.
