The reviewed “Bob Dylan: Like a Complete Unknown,” authored by David Yaffe, assistant professor of English at the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ College of Arts and Sciences. The Yale University Press publication is planned for release this month, on Dylan’s 70th birthday.

Richard Breyer, documentary film and history professor in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, commented for an Elmira preview of “300 Miles to Freedom” featuring Elmira’s role in the Underground Railroad.

The trade publication reported on the new SU showing Special Collections Research Center’s images and resources launched the Plastics Pioneers Association approached the library about establishing a collection. The resources were expanded further when the National Plastics Center and Museum in Leominster, Mass., closed and transferred its collections to SU.

A Post-Standard feature on Scott Nicholson, associate professor in the School of Information Studies (iSchool), expands on his research and interests: gaming, libraries and community. SU iSchool graduate student Angela Ramnarine-Rieks is also quoted in the article.

The L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science is mentioned in a story on the Central New York Rocket Team Challenge for 4-12 grade school students coming up in June. LCS and the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology co-host the launch competition.

William Banks, Board of Advisors Distinguished Professor and director of the Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism in the College of Law and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, is quoted in an (view clip) report following up on the death of Osama bin Laden. Banks also commented for a WAER report on the topic.

William Smullen, director of the National Security Studies program in the Maxwell School, spoke with for a report on the continuing war on terror, following bin Laden’s death.

Comments by Anthony Rotolo, iSchool assistant professor of practice, on about reaction to news of bin Laden’s death through social media are cited in a story on Twitter traffic disseminating the news and uniting social media users nationally and globally. Rotolo is also quoted in coverage. Additionally, Rotolo is quoted in CFO Magazine about social media effects on brand strength.

Tanweer Haq, assistant Islamic chaplain at SU, commented for a story on Muslim reaction to the death of bin Laden.
