SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ School of Architecture student Hilary Barlow, an officer in the SU chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students, was interviewed for a report on the project undertaken by the SU Freedom by Design chapter to build a deck for outdoor access and gardening options for a ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ man confined to a wheelchair.

The SU Ten Tons of Love campaign and Darya Rotblat, director of the Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services, are featured in the Dick Case column on the collection and distribution efforts involved in the donations given to the needy that are collected from students departing the University in May. Rotblat coordinates the TTL program with First English Lutheran Church and other area charities.

FACULTY QUOTES

David Yaffe, assistant professor of English at The College of Arts and Sciences, authored a tribute to Bob Dylan marking the musician’s 70th birthday today. Also, in (Stockton, Calif.) article on Dylan turning 70, Yaffe’s book, “Bob Dylan: Like a Complete Unknown” (Yale University Press, 2011), is included in a listing of books, DVDs, magazine articles and other media noting Dylan’s milestone.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted on the cultural impact of Oprah Winfrey in , and stories and on the entertainment news website. Thompson is also quoted in an (Calif.) article on hoaxes and the role journalism plays in their debunking.

John M. Torrens, assistant professor of entrepreneurial practice in the Whitman School of Management, is quoted about business customers’ buying motivations in an . article on the ten questions to ask before buying a business.

Milton Mueller, professor in the iSchool, is quoted in a article on viability of the rollout of IPv6, an upgrade (from IPv4) for Internet network and website operators. The article also discusses World IPv6 Day promotional events planned for June 8.
