Th3 events for October announced

Third Thursday (),聽a consortium of 20 黑料不打烊 arts venues that coordinate free monthly visual arts events from 5-8 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month, has slated the following special events for this month鈥檚 Th3 (Oct. 20):

    rodriguez鈥淭he Machine: The Art of Favianna Rodriguez鈥�
  • Art Shops at Delavan Center
    501 W. Fayette St.
    “Remembering the Man and His Art” is a celebratory presentation and exhibit honoring SU Professor Emeritus James Dwyer and his lifetime contributions to art and education. Produced by four of Dwyer’s friends and colleagues, the evening will include a brief program and exhibit of pieces of Dwyer’s art created over the years.

    鈥淓DIFICE:鈥� a collaborative installation by Mexican artists Gabriela Alva C. and Natalia Porter in response to the writing of Boston artist Andrew Witkin.
  • Red House Arts Center

    鈥淪elf-Expressed,鈥� an exhibition by Central New York artist Mary Fragapane. Fragapane is best known for her enigmatic female figures that seek to capture the intangibles of joy, passion and the beauty of the human spirit. Working in an expressive style on un-gessoed canvas, she uses a layering process incorporating acrylic paints, chalk and oil pastels, pencil and water.

    The Atrium, Two Clinton Square, 399-4100
    “My Mother Is …” features recent work by Amy Bartell and Cynthia Clabough, with special guest KayCie Simmons. Also featuring works in collaboration with Emma Bourque, Nate Bourque, Maddie Carlone, Alyssa Lunka, Aaron Roe and Sara Roe.
  • Szozda Gallery

    鈥淚n The Abstract:鈥� an exhibition featuring artists Roscha Folger, Linda Bigness, Lauren Bristol and Kwangpyo (Steve) Koh that offer insights into the realm of abstractionism in their works of mixed media, paintings, fiber art and hand carved sculptures.

    Music Performance by Mouth’s Cradle: 7 p.m., in conjunction with the exhibition: Colorfornia: New Forms in West Coast Street Art: Apex, Chor Boogie and Jet Martinez (through Oct. 29)
    Also on view: 鈥淥scar Garces: Transcendence鈥� (through Oct. 29), and 鈥淭he American Look: Fashion and Furnishings of the Arts and Crafts Era.鈥�
