He works across the company’s business units to develop digital programming and promotional packages. Under his direction, the company produced nearly 10,000 short-form clips in 2008 for distribution across various platforms, its video-on-demand and mobile services, and through online syndication partnerships with various video-sharing destinations.

Senior vice president since 2007, he played a strategic executive role in the growth of Discovery Mobile and Discovery on Demand.

He joined Discovery in 1997 as manager of programming research. He was later named vice president of programming and scheduling for Discovery’s Animal Planet. He was a manager of research at MTV Networks in Los Angeles and a client service executive at Nielsen Media Research in New York.

At Newhouse, Craig will discuss the ways in which digital and social media have changed how people view and interact with television, and how that in turn affects how television and video are created, deployed and measured.
