For graduating seniors, the final semester of college can be a stressful time. The within the Division of Student Affairs has put together three “Senior Sessions” to further prepare students for life after college as it relates to job searches. The one-hour sessions are open to all majors and years, but will be geared toward graduating seniors. All three sessions will occur on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., throughout the month of February, in the Hall of Languages, room 207. Students should sign up for the events in OrangeLink.

Senior Session 1: Wednesday, Feb. 1
Career Services staff members Tracy Tillapaugh, career consultant, and Shannon Feeney, employer relations coordinator, will offer expert advice to ensure students’ resumes and cover letters are in the best shape for job applications. Students will also learn how to successfully navigate Career Fairs, specifically the Career Expo on Feb. 8 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Schine Student Center. The first 15 students who attend the session will be given free resume paper.

Senior Session 2: Wednesday, Feb. 15
Chuck Reutlinger, associate director for Career Services, will disclose secrets to the job search process that will help students stand out from the crowd. Reutlinger will also teach students the art of not only securing a job interview, but how to perform well.

Senior Session 3: Wednesday, Feb. 22
Kim Brown, alumni programs coordinator for Career Services, and Dan Klamm, assistant director of digital and social media for ϲ, will educate students on how social media can play an integral role in making job connections and how networking is the key to finding that first opportunity. Students are guaranteed to learn new and effective ways in which LinkedIn can support their search.

All three sessions are hosted by Tillapaugh in the Office of Career Services, located in 235 Schine. For questions, please contact Tillapaugh at 443-3616 or ttillapa@syr.edu.
