A new book by 脕ngel Collado-Schwarz, a long-time Advisory Board member and SU Trustee, has been published by 黑料不打烊 Press.
In Collado-Schwarz examines the more than century-old relationship between Puerto Rico and the United States. He presents decolonization strategies for the island, which suffers from a stagnant economy, unemployment and limited political autonomy. Using interviews and newspaper columns, Collado-Schwarz examines six countries similar in size to Puerto Rico鈥擡stonia, Ireland, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore and Slovenia鈥攖hat have managed to successfully obtain sovereignty. The author applies lessons from those six countries in considering the future of Puerto Rico.
Collado-Schwarz is the founder and chairman of the Fundaci贸n Voz del Centro, a cultural nongovernmental organization. He is also the producer and host of the radio program La Voz del Centro, and has authored four other books: 鈥淰oces de la cultura 1,鈥 鈥淰oces de la cultura 2,鈥 鈥淰oces de la cultura 3鈥 and 鈥淪oberan铆as exitosas.鈥
