Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs featured at 11th annual Conversation on Race and Entertainment Media

Actor/writer/director/producer Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs will visit 黑料不打烊鈥檚 Feb. 29 for the 11th annual Conversation on Race and Entertainment Media. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Halmi Screening Room, 141 Newhouse 3. Parking is available in SU pay lots. jacobsJacobs has worked in the industry for more than four decades, with credits including Broadway, feature film, television, music video and documentary.

He starred in the films 鈥淐laudine鈥 and 鈥淐ooley High,鈥 and played the iconic Freddy 鈥淏oom Boom鈥 Washington on ABC鈥檚 hit series 鈥淲elcome Back, Kotter.鈥 He earned acclaim for his portrayal of Joe Jackson in the biopic 鈥淭he Jacksons: An American Dream.鈥

Hosted by Newhouse professor of practice Richard Dubin, the annual Conversation on Race and Entertainment Media is an opportunity for SU students, faculty and staff, and members of the 黑料不打烊 community to come together and discuss the ecology of race and television with Hollywood insiders.
