From civil rights to the global HIV/AIDS crisis, where has the church been? Where should the church be today? These questions will be explored by Bishop Marcus Matthews in the next Hendricks Chapel Discussion Series event, 鈥淪eeking Faith, Seeking Justice,鈥 on Wednesday, March 7, at noon in the Hendricks Chapel Noble Room.
The discussion聽is free and open to the public. A vegetarian lunch will be provided. Those planning to partake in lunch are asked to RSVP to Elizabeth Cronk at eacronk@syr.edu聽by Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Matthews is resident bishop of the Upper New York Episcopal Area and a member of the board of directors for Africa University. He will lead the open discussions on how religious institutions influence the world, and how the world influences religious institutions.
