Agency Group VP Peter Schwartz ’90 to speak Oct. 18

schwartzPeter Schwartz ’90, a vice president and head of urban music at the Agency Group in New York, as well as an agent representing his own roster of musical talent, will give a talk on Thursday, Oct. 18, at 6:45 p.m. in the Lender Auditorium, located on the concourse level of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. The lecture is part of the Bandier Program’s Soyars Leadership Lecture Series in the ’ (VPA) Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music. It is open to the University community.

Schwartz enhanced his love of music at ϲ’s , from which he graduated in 1990. He joined the Agency Group in 1993, after spending two years at the William Morris Agency, where he began in its coveted agent trainee program. He has been at the Agency Group longer than any other current employee in North America and has been an integral part of the growth of the company from a small boutique agency to one of the most prominent global music agencies in the world.

In his position as vice president, in conjunction with the management team, Schwartz helps oversee operations of the New York office. As an agent and head of urban music, he has booked nearly 25,000 shows and hundreds of tours in his tenure with the company. He not only personally books all of the U.S. shows himself but quarterbacks his artists’ global touring as well.

Schwartz prides himself in his success with artist development and tour packaging. Some of his current client roster includes Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, A$AP Rocky, Big Boi, Juicy J, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Waka Flocka Flame, Schoolboy Q, Big K.R.I.T. and many more.
