Kim L. Hunter
Kim L. Hunter, founder, president and CEO of the integrated marketing communications firm , will visit the on Thursday, Jan. 30, as part of the Leaders in Communications speaker series. He will speak at 7:30 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. Follow on Twitter at #CommsLeaders.
Hunter has 30 years of corporate and agency experience in advertising, marketing and public relations, and an extensive background in brand marketing, crisis management, media relations and community relations.
He has founded and managed three businesses and serves as a corporate director for the HMO SCAN Health Plan.
As an advocate for education, Hunter is also the founder and chairman of the Lagrant Foundation, which provides scholarships, career development workshops, internships, mentorship opportunities and educational enrichment programs to minority students pursuing degrees in advertising, marketing and public relations. The foundation has awarded $1.56 million in scholarships.
Hunter has been honored with several professional awards, including an Individual Achievement SABRE Award from “The Holmes Report,” which also named him as one of “In2’s Innovator 25”; the Distinguished Service Award from the Arthur W. Page Society; and, from PRWeek, an honorable mention for PR Professional of the Year—Agency and the Diversity Distinction in PR Award. PRWeek also named him to the 2012 and 2013 “50 Most Powerful People in PR” lists.
