2014_BFV_BUSINESS_SCHOOLS has been ranked No. 6 by Military Times in its 2014 list of Best for Vets: Business Schools, the publication announced today.

The organization comprising Army Times, Navy Times, Air Force Times and Marine Corps Times focused on culture and curriculum that caters to military veterans when conducting and scoring the second annual Best for Vets: Business Schools survey, a nearly 80-question analysis of a school’s complete offerings for veterans.

“Our more than 60-year collaboration with the Department of Defense in the delivery of financial management education to military and DOD civilians has been a privilege, and we look forward to many more years of partnership in preparing our future leaders,” says Irma P. Finocchiaro, director of executive education and defense programs at the Whitman School.

Best for Vets provides men and women a gauge by which to judge whether a school or program will truly benefit them. The rankings factor in academic quality, outcomes and policies, school culture, student support, and cost.

The rankings are published in full in the March issue of Military Times EDGE magazine, the premier publication for military transition, and online at MilitaryTimes.com, as well as ArmyTimes.com, NavyTimes.com, AirForceTimes.com and MarineCorpsTimes.com.

Since 1952, Whitman has offered educational programs serving military members and veterans. The (DCP) was founded in response to financial problems identified during World War II. More than 1,600 military and civilian personnel have attended the program and graduates have risen to the highest ranks of financial management in the Department of Defense (DOD).

Because various branches of the government have a growing need for individuals who understand and can develop, manage and lead the complex integration of goods, services and distribution in a variety of tactical situations, the Whitman School offers a master of science in supply chain management (). This competitive, limited-residency program provides its graduates—both active duty and civilian personnel—with a clear competitive advantage in the ability to strategically align critical supply chain support services with vital tactical objectives that meet DOD goals and objectives.

The Whitman School also offers a new, accelerated program (54 credits spanning a 14-month period) that will help students gain expertise in an area of entrepreneurship that is most related to their field of leadership and innovation.

Additional educational opportunities for military and civilian personnel at Whitman include the (ACC), the (ECC), the (SRMC) and .
