Tickets are available through SU Arts Engage at 315-443-0236. Tickets are $10 general admission and students and free for seniors and children, and may be purchased at the door by cash or check.

Monk will be joined in this performance by Katie Geissinger (voice), Allison Sniffin (voice and piano) and Bohdan Hilash (woodwinds).

Composer/performer Monk has been deemed 鈥渁 magician of the voice,鈥 and “one of America鈥檚 coolest composers.鈥 She has amazed audiences across the globe with her genre-spanning compositions for nearly 50 years. Her groundbreaking exploration of the voice as an instrument, as an eloquent language in and of itself, expands the boundaries of musical composition, creating landscapes of sound that unearth feelings, energies and memories for which there are no words.

Monk and her acclaimed Vocal Ensemble, some of the finest and most adventurous performers active in new music, offer a quartet concert showcasing Monk鈥檚 range as a composer and her engagement with performance as a vehicle for spiritual transformation.

This is the second time Arts Engage has presented Monk’s music this year. In October 鈥淎 Celebration Service鈥澛爓as performed by Monk鈥檚 M6 ensemble and a group of 黑料不打烊 students and staff at Plymouth Congregational Church in downtown 黑料不打烊.

Monk will be the composer-in-residence this fall at Carnegie Hall.
