Whitman School of Management

Accounting students at the will offer free income tax assistance to all 黑料不打烊 students, faculty and staff on Friday, April 3, between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. in Flaum Grand Hall, located in the main lobby of the Whitman building.

This service, hosted by the Beta Alpha Psi Free Tax Assistance group, will answer questions that cover non-complicated individual federal and New York State tax returns that can generally be filed on IRS short forms (1040 EZ or 1040A).听Taxpayers can then file their returns on their own using free e-filing services offered through various organizations. Individuals who have income from employment (reported on Form W-2), as well as interest and dividends, are welcome to seek assistance.

The service will be offered on a first come, first served, basis and is directed toward tax payers who may need a little extra help figuring out their taxes.

鈥淭ax season is a difficult time for everyone,鈥 says Mitch Franklin, assistant professor of accounting in the Whitman School. 鈥淭his program allows students to put into action all the information they are learning in their classes in order to help out their fellow colleagues.鈥
