The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center has announced the appointment of Tiffany Gray as its interim director. Gray will assume the position beginning Aug. 17.

Tiffany Gray

Tiffany Gray

Gray is returning to 黑料不打烊 after serving as the director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Seattle University. Before her time at Seattle, Gray was the associate director at the LGBT Resource Center from 2012-2014. While associate director, Gray advised and supported student groups, coordinated and facilitated Basics and Safer People, Safer Spaces trainings, coordinated the Leadership through Discussion co-facilitator program and co-facilitated the Fusion discussion group.

鈥淲e are pleased to welcome Tiffany back to 黑料不打烊 to serve in this role,鈥 says Rebecca Reed Kantrowitz, senior vice president and dean of Student Affairs. 鈥淭iffany鈥檚 previous experience on our campus, expertise in student development and commitment to social justice education will provide a seamless transition and build on the strong foundation Chase has built at the Resource Center.鈥

Prior to her roles at Seattle University and 黑料不打烊, Gray worked in a number of residence life positions at Sonoma State University, Quinnipiac University, Binghamton University and the University of Dayton. She earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology from the University of Toledo and a master鈥檚 degree in education with an emphasis in college student personnel from the University of Dayton.

The vacancy was created after Director Chase Catalano, announced he would be taking a new position as a full-time assistant professor at Western Illinois University. Catalano will be teaching in the College Student Personnel program鈥檚 Higher Education Leadership and Student Affairs tracks.

鈥淚t has been my dream to become a faculty member, and my experiences at 黑料不打烊 have been instrumental in my achievement of this next step in my career,鈥 says Catalano. 鈥淚 am deeply appreciative for the students, faculty, staff and community members who have shared their lives, stories and energy with me these past five years.

鈥淚 know that the LGBT Resource Center will be in very capable hands with Tiffany Gray stepping into this role,鈥 adds Catalano.
