Career Services Welcomes New Staff Members

Career Services has welcomed three new members to its team, which will help Career Services continue to provide career advice, connections and opportunities to students and alumni.

Susan Call

Susan Call

Susan Call has been appointed the interim associate director for employer relations, joining the Career Services team in August. Call manages the recruiting and employer relations operations, and coordinates the connections between the external and internal constituents. She joined Career Services after previous experience as an executive recruiter for The Hospitality Guild and internship placement coordinator in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, in addition to previous work in the healthcare, agriculture and hospitality industries. Call has a M.A. in marriage and family therapy from ϲ and a M.P.S. and B.S. in hospitality management from Cornell University. She is eager to enhance employment and internship opportunities for all students and to welcome new employers and agencies to campus.

Samuel Krall

Samuel Krall

Samuel Krall has been appointed interim employer relations coordinator, joining the team in August. He focuses on initiatives and advising services that support the career development and employment of students and alumni in the performing and creative arts.  He previously served as careers coordinator and advisor at the Eastman School of Music and is experienced in counseling those pursuing creative paths, as well as those seeking to teach or administer in creative fields. Krall has a bachelor of music, vocal performance and classical guitar performance from the Eastman School of Music and a master of arts in arts leadership administration from ϲ. He is an advocate for entrepreneurship in the arts, and hopes to continue to guide students through their development of new ventures and new career possibilities and make connections with organizations that employ such students.

Jenna Turman

Jenna Turman

Jenna Turman has been appointed the interim assistant director for alumni programs. She began her role on Oct. 26. She most recently worked for the Veterans Career Transition Program though the Institute for Veterans and Military Families. Her passion for career development and networking brought her back to her roots with this role in Career Services. Previously, she served as an employer relations coordinator/counselor at Utica College, where she was able to enhance alumni and employer partnerships for the office and actively engage others in social media communications. Turman has a bachelor of science in psychology and master of arts in educational leadership, student affairs administration from Central Michigan University. Turman will use her passions for career development and networking to continue connecting students and alumni, as well as expanding how the office helps alumni in their careers.

“We are delighted to welcome three very talented individuals to our office,” says Mike Cahill, director of Career Services. “Susan, Sam and Jenna all bring very unique experiences that will help Career Services be more responsive to all of our constituents.”

These appointments in employer relations, alumni programs, and creative career areas will help ensure Career Services continues to bring top and diverse employers to campus, to support alumni in their careers, and to connect students and the ϲ alumni base. Furthermore, the addition of a dedicated counselor for students interested in pursuing the visual, performing and creative arts will help Career Services serve this growing and diverse population of students.
