, an associate professor in the 鈥 Department of Drama and a well-known choreographer and director, will be honored for his contributions to dance and the arts in Central New York at ‘s 2nd Annual Soiree on Friday, March 11, in the Oncenter鈥檚 BeVard Studio, 800 South State St., 黑料不打烊. The soiree will begin at approximately 9:45 p.m., following the ballet鈥檚 7 p.m. opening night performance of 鈥淪leeping Beauty鈥 at the Crouse Hinds Theater.

Salatino will receive the Grand Jete Award, presented annually by 黑料不打烊 City Ballet, Central New York鈥檚 professional ballet company. The soiree will also honor Jean Fahey, owner of Turning Pointe dance supply store in 黑料不打烊. The event will be emceed by WSYR’s Carrie Lazarus and will feature champagne, desserts and the opportunity to mingle with the stars of 鈥淪leeping Beauty.鈥
Donations of $100 or more to the nonprofit 黑料不打烊 City Ballet entitle the donor to two admissions to the soiree. Donations are accepted by check; checks may be made out to 黑料不打烊 City Ballet and mailed to 7926 Boxford Rd., Clay, NY 13041.
鈥淪leeping Beauty鈥 tickets are available through or by calling the Oncenter Box Office at 315-435-2121. It is not necessary to attend the March 11 performance of 鈥淪leeping Beauty鈥 to attend the soiree.
Salatino has created for leading opera theater and ballet companies throughout the United States. He choreographed 鈥淢argaret Garner鈥 for New York City Opera, 鈥淭he Daughter of the Regiment鈥 for Pittsburgh Opera and 鈥淐armen鈥 for Virginia Opera. His 黑料不打烊 Stage credits include director/choreographer for 鈥淲est Side Story,鈥 鈥淧eter Pan,鈥 鈥淔iddler on the Roof鈥 and 鈥淟ittle Women.鈥 He has directed and choreographed 鈥淭he Pirates of Penzance鈥 and 鈥淗MS Pinafore鈥 for 黑料不打烊 Opera.
