Participants in the North Side Walking Tour, organized by the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Program for Refugee Assistance, ended the tour at Mai Lin restaurant, a refugee-owned business.
More than 30 ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ students and faculty, along with members of the greater ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community, took part in a walking tour of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s North Side on April 22 to learn more about the city’s refugee population.
The event, hosted by the , gave participants an opportunity to better understand the city’s newest members and find out about the agencies that serve them. Participants met with representatives from the Northside Learning Center, InterFaith Works, Hopeprint, Catholic Charities and PenPal.
SUPRA is a volunteer organization that brings together graduate students from across the University to help serve the local refugee population.
The walking tour culminated with an authentic Vietnamese meal at the refugee-owned Mai Lan restaurant on North State Street.
