Chiara Vantaggiato ’16, a biology graduate, watches over some leatherback marine turtle hatchlings in Puerto Rico. A nonprofit organization identifies nesting spots to monitor the hatchlings and members help the turtles out of the buried nests if needed to increase the chances of survival for the endangered species. Members of the public are invited to see the process twice a week during the nesting season.
