George Saunders Nominated for National Magazine Award for Article on Donald Trump and His Followers

Acclaimed author and 黑料不打烊 English Professor George Saunders is a nominee for a 2017 National Magazine Award (a.k.a. Ellie) in the Feature Writing category for his article “” in the July 11/18, 2016, issue of The New Yorker.

This is Saunders鈥 seventh Ellie nomination. His short stories won awards for Harper鈥檚 Magazine in 1994 and 1996, The New Yorker in 2000 and Esquire in 2004. His fiction was also nominated for awards for The New Yorker in 1999 and 2010.

The American Society of Magazine Editors announced the finalists for the 2017 National Magazine Awards for Print and Digital Media on Thursday, Jan. 19. A total of 104 finalists in 20 categories were selected. They will be honored鈥攁nd the winners announced鈥攁t a Feb. 7 gala luncheon event at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City hosted by NBC News鈥 Lester Holt.

A renowned short-story writer, Saunders has written several books, including The New York Times best-seller “” (Random House, 2013). His long-awaited first novel, “” will be published by Random House on Feb. 14. The companion features a voice cast of 166 narrators, including celebrities Don Cheadle, Lena Dunham, Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman, Susan Sarandon, David Sedaris and Ben Stiller, as well as Saunders himself.
