‘E-tailing’ is Killing Jobs, says Retail Expert Professor Nicholson

Amanda Nicholson, Professor of Retail in the Whitman School, wrote an op-ed article for 黑料不打烊.com entitled 鈥’E-tailing’ is killing jobs, the environment and the joy of shopping.鈥 Her piece details the rise of technology in the shopping realm, and the affect that has on brick-and-mortar stores.

鈥淗owever, it may be that the increasingly technology-driven, ‘gotta have it delivered to my door within the next hour, won’t pay for shipping and it better be at 50 percent off original retail’ world we are now living in has a few significant downsides that many of us are overlooking in our rush to own the most, pay the least and not wait around,鈥 she wrote.
