Despite being over three years away from election day, it is never too early for potential candidates to start jostling for position. The Director of the Campbell Public Affairs Institute Grant Reeher spoke with The Hill about this topic, though his answer may surprise you.

“I think it’s too early to discount people’s chances,” he said. “I think the candidates that we’re thinking about for 2020 aren’t people we’re thinking about right now.” This comes amidst a new single-payer health-care billed rolled out by Bernie Sanders, and a swing-state book tour for former Vice-President Joe Biden.
