Thank you! The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ community came together to make Tuesday an extraordinary day.

Otto celebrates

Otto celebrates the success of the first Giving Day.

Boost the ’Cuse, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ’s 24 hours of giving, launched with an initial goal of 1,870 donors, and the historic day ended with nearly double that: 3,568 donors raised $1,769,780 for ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, unlocking all of the additional funds made possible by a generous challenge gift from Life Trustee Daniel A. D’Aniello ’68.

“We are immensely grateful to the thousands of alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends of ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ who made our first-ever day of giving a truly amazing success,” says David Wishart ’07,  assistant vice president for philanthropic engagement.

Gifts were designated for everything from scholarships to school and college dean’s funds to units like ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Libraries and ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Athletics. With your generous support, each of you is helping send ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ to new heights.

Throughout the day, gifts came in from all 50 states—and from countries as far away as Uruguay, Sweden, Oman and Japan. More than 200 donors signed up as Advocates at mission.syr.edu, spreading the word about the effort. Advocates were responsible for more than 10 percent of all gifts made online throughout the day, truly showing the power of the Orange Network.

Take a look at the #BoostCuse excitement on social media .

Check back on Monday for a more detailed story on the day’s success. Thank you for helping to Boost the ’Cuse, and Go Orange!
