The cover of Wenliang (Kevin) Du’s new textbook on computer security
This fall,聽聽published a new cybersecurity textbook, 鈥�.鈥� The book is written for students, computer scientists, computer engineers, programmers, software developers, network and system administrators and others who want to learn the principles of computer security and understand how various security attacks and countermeasures work. It uses a series of hands-on activities to help explain cybersecurity principles. Those activities are available online at聽.
Du鈥檚 book is based on聽, which are used by instructors all over the world. The SEED Labs are the result of 15 years of research, development and testing efforts conducted by Du and his students in a project funded by the National Science Foundation.
Every year, Du hosts training workshops on the 黑料不打烊 campus where educators from other colleges and universities learn to use the labs. The attendees take the knowledge that they gain back to their own institutions where they incorporate the labs into their own teaching.
